Frequently asked questions

Where is my progress saved?

Your progress and settings are stored only in the app's local storage on your device. Nothing is uploaded to a server. This means:

Progress is not transferred to another device and is not restored after reinstalling the game.
Deleting the game also deletes your local progress.
If you restore your device from a full iCloud backup, your progress is restored together with that backup.

I lost my progress

We are sorry, but because progress lives only on your device we cannot recover it for you. If your progress disappeared without you reinstalling the game or switching devices, please email us and describe what happened so we can investigate.

I am stuck on a level

Every level has exactly one solution, so guessing is never required. Check the rules again:

Each colour region contains exactly one target.
No two targets share a row or a column, and no two targets touch, including diagonally.
If a colour region is a single cell, that cell must be a target.
Start from the cells you are certain about and eliminate the rest — it is usually much faster than trial and error.

If a level really cannot be solved, email us the level number and we will check that level's data.

The game crashes, freezes, or looks wrong

Please try closing and reopening the game, updating iOS to the latest version, and restarting your device. If the problem continues, email us the details listed above. We will follow up with a fix.

Is the game free? Does it show ads?

Yes, Missing Joker is completely free. It contains no advertising and no in-app purchases, so there is nothing to buy and nothing to unlock with money.

Does the game need an internet connection? What data is collected?

The game itself is fully playable offline, and we do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or location.

Missing Joker integrates the Adjust attribution SDK, which is used solely to measure where installs come from. It is not used for advertising targeting or behavioural analytics. The full details, including the categories of data the SDK processes and the purpose, are set out in our Privacy Policy.

How do I change sound, music, or vibration?

Open Settings from the main menu, where sound effects, background music, and haptics can be toggled independently. These preferences are saved locally as well.

Refunds

Missing Joker is free and has no in-app purchases, so there is nothing to refund inside the game. For App Store billing questions, please use Apple's official channel: reportaproblem.apple.com.
